Travel: Crystal Ski - Get More Winter

I have always wanted to go on a ski holiday, just one problem though, I can't ski. So when Crystal Ski Holidays invited me along to Snow Factor at Soar for some fun on the slopes I jumped at the chance. As I had never skied before I was given the opportunity to have a 90 minute lesson.

Crystal Ski holidays are mountain ski holiday specialists and all staff are skiers or boarders themselves so they know everything there is to know to help you book your perfect ski holiday. With 130 resorts to choose from and Crystal Ski staff on resort all season you know you will be in safe hands. They also offer some fantastic deals ranging from self catering to full board and the option to include equipment and ski passes.

Back to my night at Snow Factor, we all met in the Bavarian themed Bar Varia and were treated to a Bavarian Buffet before hitting the slopes. We then got all kitted out in our snow gear which Snow Factor provided and I had a 90 minute lesson with Nicola who was so patient with me as I was a bit rubbish at first.

Skiing was a lot harder than I expected, the hardest part for me was trying to walk in the snow. To begin with, we got a feel for our ski's, moving around and learning the correct posture and balance. I thought I had good balance aswell but I did end up falling over a couple of times. We then gradually made our way up the slope going a little further each time and learned the snow plow and how to control the speed. I think I would need quite a few more lessons before I could actually hit the slopes but this was such a great opportunity to get a feel for it.

After the lesson we went back to Bar Varia for a well earned drink and chat. It was such a great night and big thanks Kirsty from Crystal ski for inviting me and being such a great host.

Beauty: Kiko Milano Neo Noir Collection

A few weeks ago myself and Chantelle (The Girl in the Tartan Scarf) visited Kiko Milano on Glasgow's Buchanan Street to check out the new limited edition Neo Noir Collection.

The new collection with sophisticated black packaging designed by Ross Lovegrove is perfect for Autumn/Winter. With pale pink and berry tones for lips, soft browns and metalic eyeshadows, rose and coral blush for cheeks and bold nails with blue, grey and reds with light reflecting pigmants. The collection also includes foundation, contour kits, bronzer and mascara.

At the store we were treated to cocktails, cupcakes and make overs and were also lucky enough to pick four items from the new collection to take home. I choose:

Skin Modernist 2in1 Foundation and Concealer in Warm Rose 30 £18.90
This 2in1 foundation and concealer, available in five shades, creates a flawless long lasting look without it being too heavy on the skin. As well as creating a flawless look, this product also conceals imperfections and I have definitely found myself using less concealer which is a real time saver when I'm applying my make-up in the morning.

Strobe and Sculpt Cream Contour Palette in Light to Medium £14.90
This palette, available in two shades, includes a cream bronzer and highlighter and is very easy to apply. The bronzer helps to sculpt the face and the highlighter reflects the light from your face which helps to enhance your features. I'm not the best at countouring and sometimes think it can look like a bruise if applied wrong but this kit comes with a handy little guide which shows you where to apply the product so you can't really go wrong. It's also very natural and flattering when applied.

Design Flower Enriched Blush in Sinuous Coral £12.90
This creamy blush comes in three shades and each blush contains two shades which can be used alone or by combining both. I picked the Sinuous Coral as it's a perfect shade for this time of year. You can apply a light shade for a more suitable look or build up the product for a more intense shade. I find this blush gave me a really nice natural flush and the colour stays put all day which is great as often find myself applying two separate colours to get the finish I like.

Enigma Lipstick in Typography Pink £11.90
The enigma lipstick comes in eight shades including pale pinks and reds which are my absolute favourite. The shade I went for is more of a nude/pink which is my perfect shade. It's very moisturing and helps to plump the lips (move over Kylie Jenner).

*These product were given to me as a pr sample but these views are my own.

Beauty: SenSpa Pure Luxe Serum In Oil

I'm so late in posting this review but I find with a product such as serum, it takes longer to see the results so I wanted to use it for a long period of time before I shared my thoughts with you.

If you aren't familiar with the brand, SenSpa is an award winning Thai spa in Hampshire and they have created a natural skin care range so you can take home the SenSpa experience. All of the products are chemical free and made with natural ingredients. The SenSpa Therapy skincare range launched back in June and I was sent the Pure Luxe Serum in Oil to try.

This product combines both an oil and a serum and boosts radiance while fighting the first signs of aging. The serum contains gardenia which is rich in antioxidants, green microalgae know for firming the skin and vetiver which regenerates skin tissue.

I often find a serum can be hard a product to review as it prevents ageing rather than reversing or covering the visible signs and the real results won't be visible until years later. However, I can say after using this product for a few months I have seen a real improvement in my skin. My main skin concerns are the lines on my forehead and dryness around my forehead and side of my nose. It has really helped to hydrate and plump my skin making my fine lines less visible and the skin around my nose and forehead has improved a lot resulting in my dry skin practically disappearing. It's such luxurious product to apply and it smells gorgeous plus, the packing is so pretty.

The Pure Luxe Serum in Oil is a very affordable £14.99 and the range recently caught my eye in my local Waitrose so I can't wait to pick up something else to try.

Have you tried any SenSpa products?
