Lifestyle: 2015 Best Nine

For me 2015 has been a great year and my #2015bestnine (most popular photos on Instagram) has summed up my year perfectly. This year has been all been about blogging, traveling, preparing my flat to go on the market and planning adventures for 2016.

In February me and boyfriend went on a city break to Tallinn in Estonia and it turned out to be my favourite place I've ever visited. It was like a magical Disney town. I posted this picture on Instagram to show the contrast between the old and the new town.

You can read my full post on Tallinn here.

Another highlight of my year was my trip to Florida. We didn't actually think we were going to make it this year due to the fact we were preparing to put my flat on the market but after nine months of saving and getting a total bargain on Expedia we decided to book it and went in September.

It's no surprise that Disney's Magic Kingdom was one of my most popular photos on Instagram.

You can read more about Florida here.

Blogging has played a big part in my year. I've attended some great events, met some fabulous people and discovered some great new products. One of my most popular photos was of one of Benefit's new products They're Real Colour. I attended the launch which you can read all about here.

Another big thing that's happened this year has been preparing for my flat to go up for sale. We had a few small repairs to carry out and I have become interior obsessed but we now have the flat looking smashing and up for sale. As it only went on the market at the end of October we still haven't sold it but here's hoping it sells in the New Year and we can buy our first house together. This picture I shared on Instagram got quite a few likes but I think it was helped by the fact super blogger Tanya Burr liked it. You can find some home inspired posts here and here.

After my holiday to Florida I was suffering from the holiday blues and a few of my popular posts on Instagram were regrams of places that I would love to visit. One night, I decided to get all my travel guides out for some inspiration and it was a popular post on Instagram. After a lot of thought, we decided to book a city break to Munich for February 2016 so I already have something to look forward to.

And finally, my favourite month, December. I just love this time of the year. The city is so picturesque and there is so much going on. I pass through Central Station every day and judging by the likes I received on this photo, everyone loves the tree in the train station as much as I do. You can read all about why December is my favourite month here.

There was one more highlight that never showed up on my #2015bestnine and that was my trip to Rome in the Summer with my mum and my sister. It was an amazing city and you can see why here.

I hope you had a great year and are also looking forward to a fabulous 2016.

Beauty: Benefit They're Real Tinted Primer Launch

A few weeks ago I headed along to Benefit in House of Fraser to find out about Benefit's latest product launch, They're Real Tinted Primer. We were treated to these delicious cupcakes, a glass of fizz and a fab demonstration from the lovely Claire so we could find out exactly what the product can do. Just like the rest of They're Real range, I can see this turning into an iconic bestseller.

The tinted primer can be used as a base before your mascara to separate, lengthen and boost your lashes. The great thing about this product is that it can be worn alone or as a base before you apply your mascara. Worn alone the primer can tint your lashes and give you a more natural look but worn along with a mascara it can boost, lengthen and give lift to your eyelashes helping to give a more dramatic finish.

The other great thing about this primer is it can actually make your eye make up removal a lot easier and if you are a fan of They're Real mascaras, then I'm sure you know they can be quite tricky to remove.

We were lucky enough to be given a full size one to try but I had already been using the free sample I had received in December's Elle magazine and was already a fan so I'm now fully stocked up.

Big thanks to the Benefit PR girls for inviting me along and for giving me a They're Real Tinted Primer to take home and try.

Have you tried They're Real Tinted Primer?

Lifestyle: Christmas Gift Guide

Ok, so I have titled this a Christmas gift guide but who am I kidding, it's more like a wish list. Christmas is all about giving one another the little luxuries in life you might not normally treat yourself to. So, here are my top picks and you never know, some of you men out there may pick up some idea's for the special lady in your life.

Christmas Gift Guide

Diptyque, Candle, Space NK, £40 / Tangle Teezer, Look Fantastic £11.47  / Caudalie Beauty Elixir, Look Fantastic, £9.48  / How to be Parisian book, ASOS , £16.99 /   Luxury Hot Chocolate Set, Whittard, £12 / All Butter Salted Caramel & Belgian Milk Chocolate Chuck Biscuits, Crabtree and Evelyn, £5.50

The tangle teezer and beauty elixir would be great for getting glammed up on Hogmany while the rest can be saved for a miserable night in January when we could all do with some cheering up. I can just imagine on a cold dark January night lighting the candle, drinking the hot chocolate while eating the biscuits and reading the book. Bliss.

What's on your wish list?

Beauty: Relax and Unwind with Neal's Yard Remedies

The past few weeks have been crazy busy for one, with blog related events, Christmas parties and trying to sell my flat I feel like I've hardly had a minute. Plus, I've not been able to blog much because my laptop broke down and I now have a huge back log of blog posts to write. So when I had a spare Saturday last weekend I used it to have a much needed chill out day.

I thought this would be the perfect time to try out my Neal's Yard Remedies unwind set I had been gifted earlier on in the week at the Neal's Yard blogger event. The purpose of the event was to find out more about the brand and if you aren't familiar with them, let me tell you a bit more about Neal's Yard Remedies.

They opened their first shop back in 1981 in Covent Garden in London with the belief beauty should be natural. From that shop they sold dried herbs, essentials oils, homeopathic therapies and a range of toiletries made with the herbs and essential oils. They now have a number of stores thoughout the UK and the rest of the World in countries such as Japan, USA, China, Belgium, Norway, Mexico and South Korea.

Today they still sell dried herbs and essential oils but also have a range of skincare and make up and offer a wide range of therapies including acupuncture and aromatherapy massages. At the event we were lucky enough to sample a 15 minute massage which was amazing and a hand and arm massage.

So back to my chill out day, I decided to light my candles run a bath and add some of my aromatic foaming bath. The aromatic foaming bath contains lavender, Spanish marjoram and germanium essential oils to help you relax and unwind. I then caught up on a weeks worth of soaps on my sky planner, made myself a white hot chocolate from Whittard and got stuck into box of Waitrose mince pies. What a perfect day.

If you fancy some chill out time Neal's Yard Remedies in Glasgow are offering £10 off the price of a massage (full price £45) if you mention you read about the blog event.

Big thanks to Neal's Yard Remedies for inviting me along and for the goodie bag that included the above set.
