Lush Braehead Blogger Event

Last night I went along to the Lush Braehead Blogger Event where we were greeted by the lovely Victoria and a table full of cupcakes. After a little ice breaker we were split into small groups and given a tour of the store and chance to try out as many products as we liked and then given an exclusive preview of the latest products.

For those who aren't familiar with Lush, Lush sells fresh, handmade cosmetics using the finest ingredients from company's who do not test on animals. They are also big on recycling so all the packaging is recyclable or biodegradable. They sell soaps, bath bombs, bars, creams, lotions, scrubs and even make-up (which I didn't know about until last night). The most popular product which I am sure most of you are familiar with, is the bath bombs. I personally love them and had one in my Christmas stocking every year for as long as I can remember.

Whilst touring the shop we were introduced to a number of products and given the chance to try them. I tried theTurkish Delight Shower Smoothie, Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub, Soft Coeur Massage Bar, Lusstre Dusting Powder and the Multi Purpose Balm. I loved all of them. Once we had finished our tour of the shop it was time for the main event....... the exclusive sneak preview of the latest products.

First up was the Secret Garden Bath Bomb (£2.50). Made with rose absolute, blue mallow and rosewood oil for a sweet floral smell which dissolves in the bath and creates an amazing effect in the water.

The next product and my personal favorite was the Rose Bubble Bar (£2.95) which was inspired by Beauty and the Beast. Made with rose hip oil and coco butter this little beauty will soothe and nourish your skin. I can' wait to try this out.

We then had the Mumkin Bubble Bar (£2.75). The Mumkin has an uplifting fruity fragrance (which reminded me of Sorbet) and little chocolate drops as eye. I think its just the cutest little thing.

The forth product was The Mum (£5.25). This uses the same fragrance as Honey I Washed the kids soap (another Lush favorite). With sweet wild orange and bergamot oils which have a tonning effect on the skin, this bubble bath is reusable and comes on a stick so it can swirled around the bath or run under water to create bubbles. Another favorite of mine.

Last but not least was the Wonder Woohoo (£3.95). Inspired by Wonder Woman and created for mums (just in time for mothers day) this contains bergamot, rose absolute and lemon oil to make you feel wonderful.

We were also shown gift sets that were made up for mothers day that included the new products and other Lush favorites. These were Mum's Goodies, Mum, Hello Sunshine and Fab. What I loved about these sets was some of them were wrapped up with a reusable scarf. What a great idea.

As I was leaving, I was given a bag of Lush goodies which I can't wait to try. One of the products I will be giving away to one of my lovely readers, simply because it's not my color and rather than it sitting in a drawer I would love it if someone else could get some use of it. The product is the Liquid Lipstick in Drive (£14.50) To enter please see the Raffelcopter below.

Snuggle Muffin #ditchthediet

Apologies for the lateness in the post, it has been such a busy week, I just don't know where the time goes. However, after a twitter chat the other night I was inspired by Claire from Bee Waits when she said "we all have the same amount of hours in the day as Beyonce." So I have decided I have no excuse and have found time in my busy day for my blog (even if I am writing this at midnight).

So last Wednesday was a busy night for blogger events. After my shopping challenge at the St Enoch Centre, I was lucky enough to be invited along by Betty and Bee to Snuggle Muffin for #ditchthediet. To my horror, I turned up at the event with my dressed completely unzipped at the back! This was due to me trying to get myself undressed as quickly as possible (while taking part in the shopping challenge) and forgetting to zip it back up again. Oh the shame. Anyway, back to Snuggle Muffin.

Snuggle Muffin is owned by Juliane Grasekamp who started selling cakes from her school locker at 17. When she moved on to university she started catering for weddings and hand delivered trays of cakes using the subway. Juliane then spent a year working at Disney where she took inspiration and put it into Snuggle Muffin. At 21 years young, (not old in this case) Juliane opened Snuggle Muffin. Not only is Snuggle Muffin a cafĂ©/patisserie but also offers afternoon tea, cake decorating classes and caters for events.

On the night we were treated to marshmallow cocktails on arrival and a huge selection of cakes and sandwiches. There was also a pancake and waffle bar which I never managed to try as I stuffed my face with too many cakes. Once we had tucked into the delicious cakes we had the #scottishblogggerbakeoff where we were given the chance to decorate a cupcake. I certainly ditched the diet that night as I managed to polish off two plates of cakes.

I would highly recommend a visit to Snuggle Muffin which can be found on 120 George Street, Glasgow.
