Holiday Wardrobe Planning with UKSwimwear

We don't get much sun here in Scotland so my gorgeous new swimsuit from UK Swimwear will have to wait until my holiday to Lake Garda in July before it gets a proper outing. However that's not stopped me planning my holiday wardrobe so I can share this gorgeous one piece with you guys.

I choose the Miraclesuit Must Have Barcelona Swimsuit in Electric Blue. I absolutely love the style of this swimsuit and was drawn to electric blue as soon as spotted it online. It's strapless, which is great for avoiding tan lines but it also comes with straps which can be attached on to the swimsuit to give you more support if needed. Now the best thing about this swimsuit, it can make you look 10lbs lighter in 10 seconds as it is made to shape and firm the body by lifting your bust, shaping your bum and slimming your waist. Good news for me as I plan to stuff my face with pizza and pasta while holidaying in Italy.

This swimsuit will also be lovely to wear throughout the day. I can team it with my trusty vintage Levi cut offs, (that I take on holiday every year) my new sandals from New Look and my Love Moschino Sunglasess from Specsavers.  So if I need to go from poolside to lunch in a hurry this outfit is perfect.

If like me, you have been on the hunt for the perfect swimsuit or bikini for a while then UK Swimwear have a fabulous choice with brands such as Forever Unique, Freya, Gossard and many more. They have a huge range to choose from including accessories, beach bags and sun dresses so you certainly won't stuck for choice.

*The swimsuit was sent to me as PR sample but this post contains my own views.

Create The Perfect Base with Benefit's The POREFessional Range

When it comes to applying make-up, for me it's all about the base. As long as I have a good base I'm good to go. I've never really been one for big bold eyes or bright lips, I like the natural look.

The first thing I look for is a good primer so my make-up lasts as long as possible and then it's all about the coverage. I like to minimize the appearance of the pores around my nose to and cover any imperfections on my face. Once I have done that the rest of my make-up application comes together really quickly.

Benefit's The POREfessional face primer has been in my make-up bag since it hit the shelves. It provides such a a good base and feels velvety smooth on my skin. It minimizes the appearance of pores, fine lines and creates a smooth base for the next stage of my make-up application. It also contains vitamin E to protect skin from free radicals which can age skin and I'm all for anything that helps to slow down the aging process.

The POREfessional pore minimizing make-up is the latest launch in Benefit's the POREfessional range. This lightweight formula covers imperfections and minimizes the appearance of pores without clogging them. It glides on and blends really easy with the little sponge (at the bottom of the tube). It also gives my skin a light coverage but I still feel I need to use my foundation or tinted moisturiser after this but it certainly gives me a more flawless base and less foundation is needed once I have applied this.

What are your favourite products to create the perfect base?

Boohoo Spring Adventure in Glasgow

Today I'm taking you on a little Spring adventure around my city in collaboration with Boohoo.com

I'm pretty biased but I think Glasgow is an amazing city. It's got everything you could want from a big city, a buzzing music scene, trendy bars and restaurants, the best shopping outside of London, numerous museums and plenty of green space.

Last Saturday my sister and I had such a fun afternoon reminding our-self's just how great a city Glasgow is. For our afternoon adventure I wore my new tropical print playsuit from Boohoo.com they have a great selection of playsuits and jumpsuits at the moment. The print on this playsuit is perfect for the Summer but until it gets a little warmer in Glasgow I teamed it with my black biker jacket, tights and ankle boots.

We started our afternoon with the Afternoon Tea Experience at Cup Tea Lounge where we were treated to a cake stand filled with savory bites, a selection of cakes and freshly baked scones. It also included unlimited pots of tea from their extensive tea menu with more teas than you can imagine. As I'm a bit of a tea jenny this was the most enjoyable part of the experience and I swear me and my sister must have drank about 10 cups of tea each. We got through 3 pots of teas trying the Chocolate Chilli Explotion, Masala Chai  and the Chocolate Orange & Black Pepper.

We then headed to The Lighthouse to take in the views at the top of the tower and to walk off our cakes and scones of course. The Lighthouse is Scotland's Centre for Design and Architecture. It's free admission and if you climb the Helical Staircase you will find the best view of the city at the top.

After climbing all those stairs we were a little thirsty so headed over to Gin71 to taste a few of the many types of Gins they have to offer. Gin71 has Glasgow's largest selection of Gins, home made tonics and cocktails. They even offer Gin tasting sessions. The Gins come as doubles as standard so after a few Gins it was time to head home.

Oh So Hygge Macrame Workshop

A few weeks ago I went along to a Macrame workshop run by Oh So Hygge at Bakery 47 in the Southside of Glasgow.  I have know Kirsty from Oh So Hygge for a number of years and have always know her to be very talented and creative. I had never tried Macrame before so when Kirsty invited me along to one of her workshops I thought I would give it a try.

I will be honest, I thought I would be terrible at it and never thought for one minute that I could make a macrame plant hanger. I'm one of these people that no matter how many times you will show me something, I just don't get it but after a couple of attempts and a lot of help and patience from Kirsty I managed it and I was surprised how relaxing I found macrame.

There are a number of different knots you can do to create various designs but I kept it simple using the square knot and alternating square knot to create my plant hanger.  You can see in the picture below my plant hanger beginning to take shape.

We stopped half way through the workshop for a cup of tea and tucked into these delicious cakes baked by Bakery 47 which included carrot cake, chocolate brownies and macrons. We even got to take home the left overs. Yummy.
Two hours later my plant hanger was finished. I don't think I have ever been so proud lol.

Oh So Hygge have two more workshops coming up and still has a few tickets available, there is a workshop on Saturday the 22nd of April in Inverness, tickets can be purchased here and one on Sunday the 7th May in Edinburgh, tickets can be purchased here.

Due to high demand the above classes will be the last for now as Oh So Hygge is in high demand and busy working on orders from the online shop. You can see a few examples of Oh So Hygge's creations below.

You can also catch Oh So Hygge at Tea Green Artisan markety at Kibble Palace at Glasgow Botanic Gardens on the 4th June from 10am - 5pm.

Welly Merck Watches

I have recently become a lover of watches again as I love a bit arm candy to accessorize my outfit. So I've been dying to share with new my new watch from Welly Merck.

What drew me to Welly Merck (besides the beautiful watches) was the story behind the brand. It's like something from a fairy tale.

Merck an American boy from a steel artisan family with a passion for traveling and iron craft was on a trip to Italy. During this trip, Merck met Welly, a girl from a traditional watch making family. It was love at first sight for the two of them but unfortunately Merck had to return to America. Although they were miles apart, their love continued to grow stronger and they eventually overcame their difficulties and married in Switzerland where they created Welly Merck.

Welly Merck creates timeless and fashionable luxury watches at affordable prices. They offer a wide range of men and ladies watches with different straps to choose from including mesh, leather and fabric.

I choose the Classic Zurich with the rose gold mesh strap and white face (it also comes with a black face). I have to admit, I was slightly apprehensive about the quality of the watch before it arrived as I had only seen it online but when it did arrive all my worries disappeared as the watch is beautifully made and quality is plain to see. It's perfect for almost every occasion and is such a beautiful watch to wear. The strap in interchangeable which is great if I fancy a change and the glass is sapphire crystal which ensures the hardness and durability of the watch. I'm so pleased with my choice.

Welly Merck are currently offering my readers a 20% discount if you enter mycode linsaywm at the checkout.

Homewear Haul

If you didn't already know, I have a big love for home interiors and I thought I would share with you what I have been buying lately for my new house (can I still call it new after a year).

Since we moved in a year ago (it was our house-iversary last week lol) we haven't really done a lot to the house, I have all the ideas and none of the cash. Lucky for us, the house is really neutral so until I have saved enough money to start some proper decorating, I have been adding my style and personality to the house by adding in few accessories here and there. So as well as showing you what I bought I also wanted to share how I have been styling these items round my home.

First up is my new Oliver Bonus lamp. I asked my sisters if they could chip in and buy me this for my birthday and I just love it. I have a lot of this mint colour in my home so it ties in really nicely and looks great on my grey side table. Another recent Oliver Bonus buy is this picture frame. The print inside is actually a new home card also from Oliver Bonus which I thought looked really cute in this frame.

Another birthday present is my Smeg kettle. I had been considering buying this for months but kept telling myself I couldn't justify spending that much on a kettle. When I had some birthday money I thought, just go for it! I knew I would probably end up spending my birthday money on clothes or something and thought the kettle would last far longer (it bloody better at the price I paid). I searched the web for ages trying to find the best possible price (they normally retail at £109.99) and found it for £99.99 from Leekes (it's now went back up in price). I was satisfied I had found the best price and bought it. The next day at work one of the girls told me QVC was selling was them for £80. How annoying! So I typed up a quick email to Leekes and asked if they would price match QVC and they did - refunding me £20. Top marks for great customer service which will encourage me to shop with them again.

I know some people will think spending that much on a kettle is crazy but I just think it looks so stylish in my kitchen and everytime I make a cuppa it makes me smile. Money well spent if you ask me.

My next few items were bargains. These artificial flowers I found in a gift shop in Paisley called IVAD. They cost me £1.80 each so £3.60 in total and I think they are the nicest artificial flowers I have seen. The pink tray underneath the vase I picked up in H&M home for £8.99 (no longer on the website I'm afraid). I like to style up it with coffee table books, a vase of flowers or candles. I'm forever moving stuff around for a change of scenery.

The final item is this throw at the end of my bed. I picked up in the Marks and Spencer Outlet. I kept an eye on the price until it came down to £18.50 then spotted there wasn't many left so bought before it was gone. I have placed it at the end of bed to dress my bed but it also doubles up as a super cosy blanket.
